The Edge

Through a combination of zealous righteousness and post-punk experimentalism, U2 became one of the most popular rock ‘n’ roll bands of the 1980s. Equally known for their sweeping sound as for their grandiose statements about politics and religion, they were crusaders during an era of synthesised pop and heavy metal.

Being hugely aware of the power of celebrity and music to connect on a global scale, Bono and The Edge were more than willing to join the 46664 cause to fight HIV and AIDS.

Bono and The Edge played at the 46664 concert in Cape Town in 2003.
